About Awareness Work

ABOUT AWARENESS WORK

A holistic, depth-oriented approach to lasting transformation

Awareness Work is a structured therapeutic modality developed over more than 30 years by psychotherapist Lisa Darveniza. It creates lasting change through compassionate self-awareness and the resolution of core emotional patterns.

A simple but profound foundation

Beneath our conditioning lies a natural state of clarity, resilience, and inherent goodness. Over time, protective patterns formed through life experience can limit our relationships, wellbeing, and sense of self.

Awareness Work brings these unconscious patterns into awareness so they can be understood, resolved, and transformed – allowing greater emotional freedom, healthier relationships, inner stability, and a more authentic connection to yourself and your life.

Change is not forced. As unconscious dynamics become conscious and emotional wounds are gently resolved, a more authentic and grounded way of being emerges organically through awareness, insight, and integration.

A deeply integrated body of work

Awareness Work integrates psychotherapy, somatic awareness, parts work, mindfulness, Eastern contemplative traditions, and cross-cultural healing approaches into a highly effective therapeutic process – shaped through decades of clinical practice, global apprenticeship, and more than 12,000 individual therapy sessions.

What to expect

Awareness Work is facilitated conversation – online via Zoom, in either a one-on-one or small group format. Together we gently unearth the feelings, ideas, old experiences, and stuck emotions that stop your growth and positive alignment. This happens through conversation, learning, and the release of feelings – leading to the discovery of more of who you really are. It is an exploration of your inner landscape made concrete and clear, so that what has felt murky or stuck begins to make sense and shift.

How the work is experienced

We offer Awareness Work through our 6 Month Therapy Course and Individual Therapy sessions with our qualified team of therapists. This is live, relational work – not pre-recorded – allowing for real-time engagement, personalised support, and meaningful therapeutic depth

Awareness Work is also a university placement partner, providing high-quality clinical training for counselling and psychotherapy students from diploma to masters level.

For many, this becomes more than a course – it becomes a lifelong orientation.

A lifetime dedicated to understanding healing and transformation
Awareness Work was developed by psychotherapist Lisa Darveniza over more than 30 years of deep personal inquiry, professional training, and extensive therapeutic practice.

Lisa’s background includes:
  • A decade-long global journey apprenticing with respected healers, therapists, and teachers – living within diverse cultures and seeking out the most effective approaches to healing
  • Intensive meditation training, including Vipassana retreats in Southern Thailand, study of Tibetan Buddhism and Dzogchen with senior lineage holders, and teaching Buddhist meditation while managing a healing centre in Dublin
  • Extensive time in India and South-East Asia, where she developed and sustained a daily meditation practice throughout her twenties
  • Four years based in Sedona, Arizona, working with experienced healers and training in somatic and depth-oriented approaches influenced by Gestalt and Esalen-based transformational modalities
  • Several years facilitating intensive six-day somatic healing workshops internationally, working with groups of up to 80 participants in immersive, large-scale therapeutic environments
  • Ongoing professional development in Australia, alongside the completion of a Master’s degree in Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy, with a focus on Narrative Therapy and trauma-informed practice for deep emotional healing
  • More than 12,000 hours of individual therapy and many years of group facilitation, where the work has been continually refined in practice
Through this depth of experience, Awareness Work has emerged as a powerful modality that consistently creates deep, lasting change, beyond what is commonly experienced in therapy.

The most meaningful way to understand the impact of this work is through the lived experiences of participants.
