Program Fees, Deposits and Refund Policy

This policy applies to enrolment in our group programs. It is written to match the Program Agreement you sign before you begin.

  1. About this policy

1.1        This policy explains how deposits and program fees work for The 6 Month Therapy Course by Awareness Work, The 4 Month Therapy Course and our other group programs.

1.2        It sits alongside your Program Agreement. If anything in this policy differs from your signed Program Agreement, the Program Agreement applies.

1.3        All fees are in Australian dollars and include GST.

  1. Why places are limited

2.1        Our programs are fixed-term group programs delivered to a limited number of participants. Before each intake we commit to therapists, guest facilitators and other contractors, and we reserve your place on the basis of your enrolment. This is the reason for the terms below.

  1. Deposits

3.1        Where a program has a deposit, the deposit secures your place and is non-refundable.

  1. Program fees

4.1       Once a program fee has been invoiced, it is payable in full. Where a payment plan applies, each instalment is payable as it falls due.

4.2       Program fees are not refundable if you withdraw or stop taking part, whatever the reason and however much of the program you have attended.

4.3       Payment plans are offered at our discretion, on request. Requests for a payment plan are made as set out in your Program Agreement.

  1. Requests considered case by case

5.1        We may consider a request to waive or reduce outstanding fees where you withdraw because of genuine hardship or circumstances beyond your reasonable control, such as a serious illness, injury or bereavement. Fees already paid are not refunded.

5.2       This does not apply where you have changed your mind, are dissatisfied with your progress, or have decided not to continue.

5.3       Each request is considered individually and is at our discretion. We are not obliged to approve any particular request.

  1. If we cannot deliver the program

6.1       If we are unable to continue delivering a program because of the lead therapist's illness, incapacity or another unforeseen event, we will, as soon as reasonably practicable, offer you one or more of the following: a suitably qualified referral; a pause in the program with resumption at a later date; a credit toward a future program intake; or a partial refund reflecting the portion of the program not delivered, having regard to the sessions already delivered and the costs already committed.

  1. If your participation ends

7.1       We may end your participation, without refund, if you unreasonably fail to follow the program guidelines or materially breach your Program Agreement.

7.2       Before we do this, we will give you written notice of the specific issue and, where it can be remedied, a reasonable opportunity to remedy it.

  1. Australian Consumer Law

8.1       Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

  1. One-on-one therapy

9.1       Fees, bookings and cancellations for one-on-one therapy sessions are set out in your Individual Therapy Informed Consent and Client Agreement.

  1. How to make a request

10.1      Please email [email protected] with your request in writing, including the reason and any supporting information you would like us to consider. We will reply in writing as soon as we reasonably can.

  1. Concerns and complaints

11.1        If you have a concern about this policy or how it has been applied, please raise it with us first by emailing [email protected]. You can also make a complaint at any time to the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission on 1800 043 159 or at www.hccc.nsw.gov.au.
